The American Home Elevator Company began in the early 1970s by John H. Anderson, in response to the inquiries of the disabled community who were seeking easy, economical solutions to overcoming the barriers that steps present to disabled people.
When John started American Home Elevator Company he noticed a growing need in residential platform lifts for handicapped residents and residents who have a need for a residential elevator or an inclined platform lift. American Home Elevator Co. was founded with the passion to make a difference in the elevator and service industry by providing the highest level of customer service we can.

John worked in the elevator industry and put his expertise to use. He saw the need for a more inexpensive means of placing a lift in a home, church or school. John envisioned a cost effective way of helping people who need lifts to climb stairs. He worked to help change state codes for how elevators are built and installed to make them more accessible to the physically challenged.
As a privately and locally owned and operated business, we serve our customers with a wide range of lifts throughout the region. A great number of them have been with our company for decades. This is evidence that we have not grown too big or too fast to compromise our commitment to quality and personal service.
The American Home Elevator Company has chosen only the finest products from the best manufacturers in the business. We offer products from ACORN Stairlifts, Savaria Concord, Inc., Inclinator Company of America, National Wheel-O-Vator Co., Waupaca Elevator Company, Inc., and ThyssenKrupp Access.
